| - Booked two nights at the Delta Chelsea through Priceline for $143. I arrived at the hotel at roughly 10pm. I was tired from all the traveling, not to mention sick, so I wanted to be in my room as soon as possible. The front desk staff were very friendly. Check in took about 5 minutes. I was told that I would be upgraded to a double bedroom in one of the upper rooms for free!
The upgraded room was very spacious. The decor was a little trite, and really, what can you expect from conference style hotel? The bed was okay. The bathroom was fully functional, but it was lacking some amenities such as shower caps and soap! The TV was a little outdated, and the AC wasn't really working. The best part of the room was the view from the balcony.
I enjoyed my stay at the Delta Chelsea, but I can't imagine paying more than Priceline/Hotwire rate for this hotel.
[Beware: being upgraded at the Delta seems to be completely random. I've stayed at the Delta many times booking with Priceline/Hotwire, and the quality of the rooms vary. If you get the recently renovated rooms in the upper floors, then you are in luck. They're quite nice and comfortable, definitely a value for your money. If you are stuck in the lower floors, then the rooms are no better than what you find at a motel. The old rooms are very dated, musky, and just unappealing.]
