Taste Tea is not related to the Tastea in Socal, which makes me really sad.
I really really wanted to love this place because it's super close to where I live. Given that the ratings of this place are super solid and it's on the west side, I was hoping that I'd no longer have to make the long drive to BrewTea/Teaspace...but alas. Taste Tea is located in an Albertson's shopping plaza. Their decor was cute, and I appreciate that they had board games for you to play with.
I got the mango green tea with boba. I normally really enjoy drinks that you can definitely taste a real tea flavor to them. In this case, their green tea was overly floral--as if I was eating a flower instead of drinking tea; this ended up overpowering my mango flavor. Since the mango flavor is from the syrup, I'm kind of surprised that the tea managed to overpower it. While their boba is chewy, there's absolutely no flavor to them. I prefer my boba to be a little sweet because why get the extra calories if it doesn't taste like anything?
I grew up in the SGV, where boba places are found on every corner, so maybe I'm just being too critical with the Vegas boba. I want to give this place another try just because everybody else seems to be loving them in their reviews. But for now, this is going to be a last resort when I really can't make it out to Chinatown or Rainbow.
