| - After driving from Southern CA to Yellowstone through rain storms, dust storms, ice and snow, the truck pulling our trailer was the dirtiest it has ever been. We stopped in Las Vegas on the way home and I decided to get the truck washed. After a quick online search the Quicky Car Wash was close to our Vegas campground, so I decided to give it a try.
This is a very different car wash experience. You choose which type of wash you want with prices ranging from $7 to $16 from an ATM type machine you drive up to, insert your payment, and then proceed to the car wash tunnel. I chose the Lava Wash, the most expensive, because the truck was really dirty. You drive the car yourself and two guys greet you with sprayers and the car begins to move through the wash tunnel. The different colored suds that were sprayed on and flashing strobe lights were an unexpected bonus, but the bottom line is that the automatic machines did a great job.
After finishing the tunnel and its jet dryers you proceed to the covered vacuum area where you can vacuum the car and clean up any left over spots with the micro-fiber towel you are given. If you have a large vehicle, or really want to do a thorough job, it's probably a good idea to bring your own towels. If you are in a hurry you can skip the vacuum area as the car wash does an adequate job. Personally, I appreciate vacuuming and detailing the truck myself as the workers at most car washes do not do a very good job.
Wish there more of these closer to where I live.
