| - Omigosh! I loved all of it, from the delicious bread dip of egg whites, olive oil, and garlic to one of the best flan desserts I've ever had. (And I love flan.)
My girlfriend and I couldn't decide from the long list of small plates, so we ordered the chef's special. Worth every peso. We started with small peppers stuffed with crab meat, cheese wedges, and my favorite -- dates stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon. Next came sauteed shrimp. This was followed by small slices of beef tenderloin in a delicious sauce, along with lamb chops.
After that was cleared away and my friend and I were talking, the server brought new, clean dishes. Hmm, I wondered, what's this all about? I had forgotten there was another course -- a dish of wonderful paella! Oh, arghh, I wished I hadn't eaten that second roll. We wound up with most of the paella to go, and the server wisely put it into two separate boxes.
My friend had the "after dinner digestive drink" (champagne) and I had the flan. Which I shared. Then had to control the urge to lick the bowl to get the last drops of the caramel sauce.
As we walked out, we knew we'd be back, and with a larger group of friends.
