  • Warning!!!!! Not what it use to be! The property is becoming dilapidated. We booked online for a week long get away, the website clearly says," Pools are open and heated year round" being from Colorado we wanted to make sure, so we called to double check, The lady says, " oh yes its always a pool day here at the Mirage" Great. We made our reservation for 8 days, which says it comes with 2 free buffets each day. We drove for 2 days, 850 miles, through rain and snow and arrived at 10 p.m on a Wednesday night. First thing i tell the front desk clerk is how excited i am to swim and layout by the pool. She says, yes its supposed to be nice even offered us a pool VIEW or Strip view. We opted for the strip view, i tipped her $20. We checked in, took the elevator to the 21st floor. The elevator felt like it could plunge to the ground at any minute, shaking and making lots of noise. Our room was nice and the view great. Our bathroom very out of date, the shower head was falling off and the sink was stained and the toilet didnt work right. We take a walk around the casino and out to look at the pool. This is the first time we found out the entire pool was completely Destroyed! DESTROYED! NO POOL! they had one small little personal size pool and one hot tub open. Its a total construction zone. Mind you the Mirage charges a $40 per day Resort fee. The resort is half closed! What is that all about? I take my concerns to the front desk, they acted like i should have done more research, somehow this was my fault. I looked online, i called to double check and no one told me. Its like they have been trained to keep it hidden from their guest so they dont loose revenue. It took 3 days for real 3 days to hear back from a manager, the employees i did speak to are very argumentative and unprofessional. One manager named Charlie claimed he spoke to me, never happened, he left a message. The worst of them all is a manager named Mario! Mario is completely unprofessional, he left me a message to call him back, no number, no last name, very unclear. I finally get him on the phone, he tells me to be quiet and he doesnt have time for me to repeat myself. I couldn't believe my ears. This man was so rude and unfriendly. Needless to say, stay away from this property its a nightmare! Their employees are showing signs of being unhappy with their jobs and they are taking it out on the customers. Lots of other amazing casino's in Vegas, go somewhere that takes pride in their property and their employees are happy. Sad to see this landmark go to the dogs. We use to love this place lots of great memories here with our entire family over the past 20 years, wished it wouldn't have ended on such a sad sorry note. It was a good run.
