| - So-so Italian / pizza with decent atmosphere. The patio looks fun, and they have a full bar. I was alone, for some much needed "me" time while I waited to pick up my son from the ice rink down the street.
The service was quite good, except for one glitch at the end.
The food was not consistent at all. I ordered a salad that advertised fresh tomato and fresh mozzarella. Tomato was even in the name! I expected some lovely version of beautiful rich red tomato slices, with pillowy, glistening slices of mozzarella. Instead, it was a typical romaine salad with arugula mixed in and a sprinkle of diced tomatoes. No mozzarella. It all had a sickly parlor to it. I asked about the mozzarella and a waiter had to look at the menu to confirm my claim that there should be cheese. He dashed in and out of the kitchen, returning with a dish of hastily sliced chunks of rather firm, almost gluey cheese.
The cappuccino I ordered had no froth - just heavy cream. It was a generous cup, and my young waiter proudly informed me he made it himself. Cute, but a barista he is not.
I ordered a calzone to take home, which they forgot about and hastily fired. My husband reports that while slightly undercooked, it was still tasty.
I would give it a two, but the service itself was attentive and fixed issues quickly, as best they could. And the Italian ladies next to me who had pizza raved about it, so perhaps the flaw was in my selections. That said, they ordered a veggie pizza and a key veggie had been left off, but they didn't seem to mind. Perhaps the wine is just. That. Good.
Give it a try, but set expectations low.
