| - Left Cox because their ridiculous increases, and signed a two year contract with Dish, which I was skeptical about but anyway...
Within the first 3 months we started experiencing problems with programming. We would get "call your service provider" alerts on the screen. (YES, BILL WAS PAID). This meant being on the phone with these people once every couple of weeks. At least 30 minutes each call by the time you actually get through to a representative. Called to update my new debit card # for automatic withdrawal and it took THREE disconnections before they can get it right!
Best part came when I asked for service to be transferred to my new home. It went something like this.
Day 1: (30 or so minute call)
Would like to transfer service. Gave them info. Date for tech to go out scheduled. Thank you, bye.
Two Days Later: (30 minute call)
Me: hi, tech was scheduled to be here and is not here??
Dish: sorry. Just checked, he is running a bit late. Will be there shortly....waited all day, never came. Called again, another appointment scheduled.
2nd Appointment: (30-40 min call)
Me: hi, tech was supposed to be there at 7am. It's 9am???
Dish: he was there at 7. No one was home.
Me: uh, no. I've been waiting since 6:30.
Dish: We apologize. He went to your old address. Sending him back out.....waited all morning. Never showed. Called them again. Another 40 min call. They apologized, I rescheduled.
3rd Appointment: (40 min call)
Me: Where is the tech. He's one hour late and this is 3rd time scheduling??
Dish: We apologize, we don't even have you on our schedule for today, whoever scheduled you last forgot to schedule it......(ummm okaaay).
......you get the picture?...this happened, yet another time. A 4th time! Finally snapped and forced them to let me out of the contract without penalties. After speaking to the higher-ups, I was allowed out after 18 months. Then they claimed never to have received equipment even after I received a confirmation email!?Argued with them over that for another 2 months. THEN, they wouldn't return my deposit, claiming I owed them for a month of service. That too, took another couple months and was only able to recover $25 of $100. They told me they would refund all back into my debit and $25 was all that posted. Gave up.
These guys take the cake!
