  • Finally, I did my homework and was rewarded. After finding the homey ad by Air Supply in my weekly neighborhood newspaper offering all kinds of deals and Military and Senior citizen discounts, I looked them up on the internet. No, the deals were not for a concert (Air Supply) but for HVAC services. There were pages of glowing reviews about their service on YELP and other reviewing sites. So, I decided to give them a call. I called at 8:15 Saturday morning. The young lady who answered the phone, unlike the airheads you often find in these kinds of positions, she knew her stuff. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about what her company could and could not do. I explained my situation to her including my past experiences with other HVAC businesses and asked her when she could send a technician out to look at my problem. She told me a couple hours, but probably no later than 10:00 a.m. It was not yet 10:00 when I got a call from the technician letting me know he was at my gate. I met him in the parking lot and explained my situation and poor history with A/C companies. I asked him straight up not to sell me anything that I didn't need. He explained that his company was big enough to provide any kind of HVAC services, but still small enough to provide a more personal level of service. That they were straight shooters and were most interested in happy customers who would bring them return business. He was a nice guy. His name was Ron and he was a proud Native American and member of the Apache Tribe. We went and looked at my A/C unit and Ron explained to me that some of the stuff the last guys had done to my A/C like acid washing the condenser was actually not good for it. He showed me where it was leaking oil and pointed out that they should never had tried to fix it, after all it was coming up on twenty years old. Then he gave me a number of options. If I were strapped for cash he could replace it with a refurbished unit for about $1200.00 while I saved up for a new unit or he could give me a deal on a new unit right now. Then he offered me a deal that I could not refuse. He said after he applied my discounts he could have a new A/C unit installed. Not an off brand but rather a brand new Carrier A/C for $2800.00 plus tax. The unit had a ten year warranty with five years on parts and one year of free labor. I asked him when he could have it installed. He said today. I said write it up. He provided me with a work order with the tax added and it totaled $3,124.00 and then called up his office. I gave them my debit card number they gave me a transaction number and the deal was done. Ron then called his shop and ordered up the installation team. They were on the way to my place with my new A/C before Ron even left. A few minutes later I got a call from one of the installation guys asking me to turn off the power to my A/C. They were already working on it. An hour or so later I got another call telling me to turn on my A/C and set the thermostat. A couple of minutes later one of the guys came up, knocked on my door and handed me the instruction booklet the came in the box with my new A/C and then left, they were all done. It was only 11:30 a.m. Three hours and fifteen minutes from the time I first contacted the Air Supply office and my new Carrier A/C was cooling down my condo. I guess there really is some good service left if you are willing to do your research and look for it. I could not be happier about the way I was treated by Air Supply and they will now be my company for all things HVAC related. I'm Happy, happy, happy and cool.
