I moved from Florida in October 2015 and was thrilled to realize there was a brand new Publix within a few miles of my new home. Publix is a great Florida grocery store. However, I felt I had to check out what a "Harris Teeter" was all about now that I was a North Carolinian. I had never heard of them. I shopped there immediately after my move and found the prices, for even non-organic food, to be really high. I try to buy organic and Publix is not the most price friendly with organics. But I stuck with Publix for many months. For whatever reason, I swung back into this HT about six weeks ago and I am VERY happy that I did!
The store is immaculate AND there were signs all over the store announcing "lower prices on all natural and organic". Their organic produce prices are lower than the regular produce prices at Publix, and their organic selection is AMAZING! Everytime I go in there I find an organic addition I had not been able to purchase previously. Most recently, organic sour cream which I have not been able to find at any of the grocery stores I would shop.
I also spoke to an employee about the same time I started to shop there six weeks ago and asked if they carried any organic french fries. She said no, but that she would make note of it and see if they could get them stocked. I was in last week and was pleasantly surprised to see organic fries on the shelf at a very reasonable priceI had asked the same of Publix six months ago and they never responded.
I couldn't be happier with my local Harris Teeter! Thank you HT for saving me lots of money on my organic grocery bills! :-)
