| - Great food, good atmosphere, good service
I hadn't been to Inka Heritage in a few years. I was pleasantly surprised upon entering to see the updated decor. The walls are a nice, warm yellow with cultural decorations. Music was also pleasant and at a volume that allowed for ambiance and conversation with my dining partner.
The food was fantastic! I had the Lomo Inka Heritage which included steak, tacu tacu with a fried egg, and plantains.
My husband had the Mar pacifico which was a variety of seafood served over rice with huancaina sauce.
We shared the Tres Leches cake for dessert.
Our entrees were fresh, hot, and well prepared. My steak was cooked medium as asked and it melted like buttah in my mouth! The plaintain was roasted and done to the perfect consistency. the tacu tacu was a bit dry, but once mashed up with the egg it went well. My husbands fish was tender, moist, and flakey and was complimented well by the sauce.
The tres leches cake was a bit on the dry side, but still delicious. I remember the cake as being more spongy and moist.
The service was very professional and polite. Be aware, though, that the service can be slower here. However, I would say it's most likely due more to the cultural preference for not rushing a meal, but enjoying it.
The menu is a bit more on the pricey side. 2 entrees, a dessert, coffee, and 2 glasses of Sangria ran about $80 with tip. However, the food and overall atmosphere are worth the investment.
We will definitely be going back as I have a craving for the Ceviche!
