We found a worse vice in Vegas than gambling. It's this adorable little bar with creative, inventive, delicious beverages. We made a list of all of the "speakeasy" and craft cocktail bars that we wanted to hit while we were in town. We ventured down to Fremont street and then off Fremont street where is all of a sudden becomes a ghost town like environment until you get to the Container Park.
The Container Park is a really neat area with bars, food and shopping made out of shipping containers with a giant 40' tall fire breathing metal praying mantis. Yes, awesome. We could have stayed there for days. Oh wait, we basically did. Our plan was to have a couple of drinks at each bar. Well, we got into Oak and Ivy and never left. We were fortunate to get a seat at the bar since there are only 7 or 8 bar stools and the rest of the seating is outside. I will add that it is lovely outside but we prefer to be in the action and at the bar. I couldn't get enough of the Apple Pie Harvest. Holy cow, it was good. Some of our other favorites were the Overnight Billionaire and the Watermelon Fizz.
We ended up spending most of Saturday there and went back on Sunday for more drinks and sadly didn't make it to half of the bars we originally planned. Terry was awesome and has made some of the most interesting simple syrups and drinks. We were sad to leave but we have not stopped talking about it, sending folks there and thinking about when we can go back. xoxo Miss you Oak and Ivy!!
