| - This place probably doesn't need another 5-star review but I will do it anyway. This is fabulous, really fabulous. However, please note that this was my first ice-cream experience after years of not being about to eat it, so I am probably not the most discerning of judges.
Either way, goodness gracious! It was a cold night and for some reason, my friends and I decided that we all craved ice cream (probably in an effort to pretend it was still warm.) We drove over to Village Ice Cream and its awkward (slightly sketchy) parking lot on a Saturday night and were greeted with a line that was out of the door. Clearly, others had the same idea.
There are typical flavors, such as chocolate and vanilla, but there are also more creative flavors like caramel brownie (season), pistsachio, etc. When we walked in a fresh batch of waffle cones had just been made, so that delicious smell was also wafting in the air. I got the caramel brownie and my husband got the vanilla. Some of the others got the coffee and the chocolate and everyone was happy with their choice.
The prices were a little high ($5/singe serving) and if you have read my other reviews then you know that I frequently will judge a place if the prices seem outlandish. However, the ice cream was just *THAT* good that I think it's worth it. The parking lot is also super tight (I recommend parking on the street) and the shop itself is a little out of place in the East Village. Regardless, it's really worth the visit and it's definitely way better than those by-the-pound places that seem to pop up all over the city.
