  • I flew from Washington, D.C. to Seoul, South Korea in May 2018 and had a layover in Toronto each way. The airport is big, modern, and seems pretty clean. I didn't have issues navigating, but there was quite a bit of walking to get to the terminals/gates. There seemed to be a good number of outlets (including USB charging stations), which was handy since one of my layovers wound up being a lot longer than I'd expected due to a delayed flight. When passing through Toronto to get from Seoul to Washington, D.C., there were separate terminals/gates for Domestic, International, and U.S. connections. The U.S. entry/immigration/customs/extra security procedures all took place at the Toronto airport and required a bit of time to get through, so definitely keep that in mind if you're connecting through this airport to fly to the States. The upside is once you arrive in the States, you shouldn't have to go through any of the procedures after you land. There were several gift shops at the airport, where you could buy maple candy, maple syrup, magnets, etc. I didn't eat at the airport, but there seemed to be a good number of places where you could buy food (however, there were far fewer once you got through U.S. customs, so if you can, I would recommend getting food before going through security). The wi-fi worked fine for me. Overall, a pretty average airport and not a bad place to have a layover.
