  • I stayed here July 11-16. I really enjoyed this hotel... Yes, they are renovating but that didn't bother me. I booked my stay through expedia but chose to pay at the hotel. So when I checked in I was told that they can give me a better rate than expedia. I saved almost $500. My room was comfortable and yes it was small. In my room it did have a small closet where I hung my clothes and I used the curio type furniture to put my other clothes away. The bed was comfy & pillows I loved! I want those pillows!!! For couple of days there was a cheap plastic night stand that they provided but they did replace that with a much nicer one with a more up to date style nightstand with a plug for your device. I also enjoyed the free shower products that they provided and of course free WiFi. I did not use the garage as I did not rent a car while I was there. My co-worker & I did rent their bikes, it was $5/hour. If you can, I would suggest reserving it ahead of time. There was a unfinished gym/fitness center but they did provide guest with a free pass to the local fitness center around the corner. There are many restaurants, shops, things to do just around the corner of this hotel. The negative: front desk worker whom we asked for recommendation for a good Mexican restaurant, he gave us a name of a restaurant (Diablo). We started walking Capitol St. and 4,000 steps later we found out that the restaurant he recommended closed down. Not just close for the night but permanently closed!!!! Seriously!!! He wasn't the first one whom we asks for suggestion/recommendations for different restaurants in the area, I just think that they are young employees & they don't really know???? I would also say I did hear my neighbors TV at night before going to bed (almost every night) wasn't sure if it was coming from front, back, or upstairs. Yes, Price per night was a little bit expensive. I think it was the high demand at the time I was there. Almost all the hotel around the area were fully booked due to a big conference. If you like boutique style type hotel, I would recommend this place. I would stay here again! From reviewer Phoebe C.,I don't know where you can get $40/night. I don't even know if Motel 6 offers that!!! You r lucky they honored the $40/night! Thumbs up for you!
