I used to live at Loews when it first came to Pittsburgh in North Versailles across from Wal-Mart. Then the Waterfront location opened. Up until Cinemark came to Pittsburgh, Loews was pretty much the only game in town for new release movies. Loews and Cinemark are very similar. Both are have large theaters, offer self-serve kiosks and online ticket purchasing, big comfy chairs and let you reserve your seat for certain movies.
But, what separates the two is the fact that if you pay $5 extra Loews has a V.I.P. area on the second floor which features a bar, a restaurant with much better food and leather chairs in pairs with tables for your food. Perfect for date night.
Loews also has loads of parking and tons of restaurants nearby if you don't want to pay the high concession stand prices.
What I don't like is the really long lines at times just to use the self-serve kiosks to get tickets and the concessions line can be just as long as they never seem to have enough people working.
If Loews was closer I would go more often. It's not a bad place to catch a movie but, I prefer Cinemark as it is cheaper and much closer to me.
