  • Used a Southwest Airlines magazine coupon for a half price ticket in the second floor mezzanine for reserved seats. A few days before the performance, we had an unanticipated schedule conflict. I called the Rio and they graciously changed the date of the performance for us. We ended up only about ten rows further back from our original seats for the following evening. Picked up our tickets from the Rio box office. The Mike Jones Duo started the evening off before the show with some great jazz piano and upright bass. I've heard that Penn Gillette plays the bass for the duo in an uncredited role. I'll note the bass player never showed his face to the audience. They also had audience members go on stage before the performance to look inside a big wooden crate and sign an envelope. Don't recall Penn & Teller actually using the signed envelope for any of their tricks. I thought the show was pretty entertaining. Lots of amazing tricks. Did hear Penn rail against TSA, but what the heck. Who doesn't? The only real disappointment was some of the tricks during the last half of the show were impossible to see from the second deck. Guess if you want to full experience, you ought to sit in the front half of the first level. Forget the third balcony level.
