  • As I type with cut fingers, I share my experience with Carolina Fish and food market. I decided I wanted a home cooked meal Friday night and was in the mood for Fish, Snapper is my preference. I didn't feel up to going to the usual fish market, so I stopped by CFFM since it's a 4 minute drive from my home. Walking in I was relieved they didn't have the overwhelming stench that some seafood markets have, it was clean but smaller than I expected. The yellow tail was not hard to spot, but it was priced $5 more a pound that what I pay at my usual seafood market. The guy explained the price was for the filet and the whole fish was actually $9.99lb, much better but still more than I usually pay. I brought 2 full yellow tails, but they did not scale, or fully clean my fish. Ive never had to de-scale my own fish. I had to watch a YouTube video and I still was not fully successful. My fingers were cut by fins several times trying to clean my fish. My expectations would be if I buy it you should clean it. Now I still would recommend them for other options but nothing that needs to be cleaned.
