  • This place was not as great as I thought it would be based on the other reviews. The decor was nice and the little private room at the back looked cosy/cool, as well as a couple nice booths on the one side. But really, considering the location (Bloor/Dufferin) I expected it to be a bit cheaper. Unlike Sushi on Bloor and the Annex strip sushi joints, Mazz does not offer lunch specials on the weekends. And the weekday lunch specials posted were not especially cheap either. Sorry, but for Bloor/Dufferin area I want cheap, dammit! I paid $12 for 3 rolls (california, spicy salmon, and one called "banana roll" which I had to try just because i've never had banana in a roll before). Each roll was 6 very small pieces. They were okay, wouldn't say incredible but decent. I didn't get any free salad or miso so I was a bit pouty about the whole experience, spending $12 plus tax and tip is over double what I'd pay for a Sushi on Bloor lunch special. The cheerful server must have had a day off when I went, cause I got the beeeeyotch! Mazz, meh!
