Tried this service for the first time, got my first delivery today, 2 meals for 2 people. So far I've only made the first one (balsamic and fig glazed chicken). The chicken was vacuum packed in plastic, but somehow managed to leak. Thankfully it was at the bottom of the box, and the other items were in a separate bag. I notified customer service by phone and followed up with an e-mail with a picture of the liquid at the bottom of the box. They responded by offering me 2 meal credits.
As far as the flavour of the food, no complaints there. I wish that the vegetable portion was larger (only 6 ounces of broccolini was provided). The 2 pieces of chicken breasts were large enough but were very thick. The instructions say to cook them in a pan on medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes each side. This was nowhere near enough due to the thickness of the chicken breasts. This added more time to the 35 minutes quoted for this meal. In addition, some of the instructions are either incorrect (lost in translation as I read in another review - they must have been translating from French to English). Example: "Start preparing the recipe when the oven comes to temperature". So they're telling me to start prep after the oven has been preheated??? That makes no sense and obviously I disregarded that. The picture of the 2 chicken breasts on the recipe card shows them in a pan (when describing how long to cook them), but the final photo of the recipe shows the chicken in several slices. Nowhere on the recipe card did it say to slice the chicken breasts. I ended up having to do this after several minutes of cooking because they were taking so long to cook. It also says to cut the potatoes into thin half moons, but it didn't specify how thin. I guess I cut mine too thin because the photo shows the potato slices only taking up half of the baking sheet and mine took up the entire baking sheet. I had to shove everything over to make room for the broccolini. I will see how the next meal turns out (roasted miso vegetable ramen) before I decide if I'm going to continue.
