| - I did eventually hear from the service manager, and made an appointment to bring the car back. This time, I also brought him 11 pages (of over 30 I found) of results from a simple "Google search" for "2002 Honda Civic, gas smell in rear of car". It was EXACTLY the same thing I had reported, and complaints from others about having been told the same things I was told (about overfilling the tank, etc.) Two hours later, they found that the filler pipe to the gas tank had corroded and was leaking gas when the car stopped or started. I had to buy a new gas tank, and there is no more gas smell. But, if I had listened to what they told me, I would have been driving around with a leaking gas tank, which could have easily resulted in a FIRE if I got into an accident. Honda wanted to know if I was now "satisfied." Hell, no! Would never deal with them again.
