  • On May 30th, 2018, my day off, I entered the gym and was informed by the manager Michele Nuanez that an employee accused me of actively performing personal training in Mountainside. I have been there since late December, and am far too busy with my full time tech job, 5 rental properties, my Masters in Digital Forensics, and my son, to train anyone against the policies of the gym. This could have been avoided, but the manager did not bother to check the cameras for the employees accusations, before informing me that someone told her I was training. I asked her if she checked the cameras, and she stated no. She said, "she was just learning." The manager Michele Nuanez would not disclose the employees name or the video from the security cameras in question. I was pretty heated, because my time is short, and I want to lift heavy and get out. On my way out, I asked the manager Michele Nuanez if she had checked the cameras; she stated that she did not want to discuss it. I asked for the owner, Tom Hatten's email and phone but she refused to provide it; she gave me the "COO" Mario Arce's email address. He failed to call me within 30 hours after I sent him an email. I then received an email that Michele Nuanez had canceled my membership, without responding to my request that she show me proof of me "training" someone (never happened"). It appears that Tom Hatten allows Mountainside managers to accuse customers with no proof, then covers for them by canceling their membership. Definitely think twice about joining, I had to notify my legal counsel yesterday as this seems to be a pattern of harassment by Michele Nuanez. You'll see Alex J responded back from Mountainside but it's a half ass response. I called the number Mario left three times but he was never in the office to pick up; he doesn't need to talk to me anyway. Mario Arce needs to view the footage that the unnamed employee accused me of training, then simply speak to the GM Michele Nuanez to find out that the club was wrong and falsely accused a customer. Mountainside Fitness does not want to have to apologize for their mistake so they are covering for Michele Nuanez. This can be easily fixed by having the GM and the unnnamed employee apologize for their lies about me training other members. Here is the email from Michele Nuanez with no response to my question: Michele Nuanez May 30 (1 day ago) to me, Mario Dear Mr. Murphy, Upon review of your cancel at Mountainside Fitness today, we have refunded you this past month and your last month that you paid when you joined. You will see this refund, totaling $88.00 in 3-5 business day. With that refund, today was your last day of usage of the gym. That means you will no longer have access to our facilities. I have attached the COO of Mountainside Fitness to this email. Thank you
