| - Holy moly, this trip was so dam cool!! (haha, get it... dam). So my boyfriend and I booked the West Rim/Skywalk tour during the last week of June and it was an awesome experience. Luis, our super-cool tour guide, picked us up right on time and was great throughout. The day went like so... Stop 1: McDonald's for breakfast, not my fave but you can't go wrong with oatmeal and oj. You are encouraged to order whatever you would like from the menu and your guide will pick up the tab. Stop 2: The Fabulous Las Vegas sign. Luis was a pro at snapping shots of us and our 6 other van-mates and gave us an interesting history lesson as well. Stop 3: The Grand Canyon!! It's everything I hoped for and more. We were given plenty of options on how far we wanted to push ourselves considering the 110 degree heat that day. For those of us who chose to take it all the way, we were led on a mini hike up to some amazing views of the canyon. Once again our picture pro Luis gave us all a chance to get some amazing shots. This was after visiting the Skywalk bridge (cool, but definitely not the most impressive part of the trip). We had our picnic lunch of Arby's sandwiches, fruit, crackers, and cheese. Definitely better than expected when you think fast food sandwich. Stop 4: The Hoover Dam. Considering the extreme heat that day we were given the option to make our stop at the dam short and sweet, which we were all grateful for. Amazing views and a history lesson to boot. I very much enjoyed the intimate experience provided by being in a van rather than a tour bus. Being able to adjust your itinerary and not waiting for 30 extra people at each stop was the best. I'd recommend this tour and would love to take another when I make it back to Vegas!
