  • I was heading home from Raleigh and while I was hungry, I didn't want to spend a lot or have a long drawn out dinner. JJ's fits the bill. On the positive side, their dogs are grilled and not boiled. Their menu covers the gamut of hot dogs from around the country. Growing up in Jersey, we ate all beef dogs, Nathans, Hebrew Natl, Sabrett so eating the Sahlen's hot dogs was definitely different. For my money there is nothing better than a good beef hot dog. JJ's does offer a beef dog as well as a veggie dog so next time I'll try the beef. All the hot dogs are served on a Martin's potato roll. I am not a big fan of the Martins rolls. I found them a little on the gummy side. I had the Chicago dog. Their version was good but was missing the poppy seed bun. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to make one just as easily and good at home but when your in the mood for one and don't want to cook it the JJ's is a good alternative.
