We arrived for Brunch at noon and were promptly seated. had to wait a little for the server to show up, but he was gracious and personable. We ordered Mimosas and he immediately said that we would have to wait as alcohol couldn't be served on Sunday until after 12 Noon. I checked my watch and pointed out that it was in fact after 12. He apologized and said he would place the order immediately. he came back a few minutes later and said he was sorry but the bar was out of champagne and could not make the Mimosa right then. He offered (or tried to upsell) but we said we would wait for the bar to get their act together. As it ended up, we probably would have been better off buying a bottle of Champagne and making our own- good OJ but VERY light on the bubbly. Maybe the food would be better.
He did offer good insight into the menu. We both ended up choosing the Shrimp and Polenta which was absolutely fantastic! Shrimp were juicy and flavorful, polenta creamy and delicious, the sauce was nuanced and perfectly complimented all the other parts, even had a little heat. Just wonderful!
Unfortunately, our server got over-seated with a larger party and that was pretty much the last we saw of him. We (and other tables near us) had to wait several minutes to get our check, and then of course get it processed and returned.
All in all, it would have been 2 star, but the food saved the day.
