| - I have to agree that his bedside manner is pretty bad. I do get the impression that he is skilled at his job, but I'll be honest - I'm NOT a dentist so all I have to go off of is my impressions.
Things I liked: Very modern equipment, friendly staff, got me in for an appt quickly. Seems very knowledgeable. When asked, will explain specifics. I think it is his daughter who works there, and had a gold tooth put in... which shows me he isn't recommending 1 thing for his family, and 1 thing for other people. I like that.
Did not like:
- Tried to make me sign some sort of document "work plan". I said "no" and they were fine with that.
- They made a mistake with the type of procedure they were doing. Although it ended up being not a big deal, at the time I was VERY upset about it. ( It was a procedure we had talked about doing, but I came in for something else )
Dr. Carr was aggressive and IMO rude about the whole thing, verbally shutting me down at one point "Are you done?", and refused to admit any fault. While I can understand this might be necessary from a legal point of view, and he was no doubt freaking out a bit about the whole thing, it did not sit well with me.
- Doesn't explain what work he is going to be doing. Least informative Dentist I have ever had.
My complaints here are all personality issues. As far as the dental work he has done, it seems fine.
EDIT: I came back to this, and after seeing Dr. Carr's reply - I felt I need to stress something. They drilled out the wrong damn tooth, and then were rude to me about it.
Take another look at his reply, and I think you will see the type of person you will deal with. No apology. "communication failure?" I guess - but it is your job to prevent that type of "communication failure", you worked on the wrong tooth, and I had to put a big ole chunk of change on my credit card that I wasn't prepared for. And you were really rude to me about it as well. I should have left there, refused to pay, and had another Dentist patch up your mistake. But I was afraid to - you had the only mold for the tooth you had just destroyed.
