Loved this hike! Beginners hike. The trail is very easy to walk, it is just a long distance if you start from the beginning, go all the way to the Hoover dam, and turn around.
Tips:
-when putting "historic railroad trail" into your GPS, it may lead you directly to the Hoover dam hotel like mine did. I would suggest to just put your GPS to lead to the lake mead marina. Once you turn in to head down to lake mead, you will see a turn on the right and the sign that says "historic railroad trail". Park here and you start!
-bring lots of water. The loop from the start all the way to the Hoover dam is 8 miles round trip
The trail is very easy to hike, nothing to climb. Just views to take it! This hike will lead you directly to the Hoover dam! Take in the sights at the end it's pretty cool, plan to bring cash if you want to go into the visitors center at the end. I recommend starting early in the morning to beat the heat. Signs on the hike recommend to avoid the hike from June-September and I definitely agree. There is no shade at all besides the tunnels, so wear protection! Also for dog ppl or biking ppl, the path is friendly for both
