  • My 7 year old was doing karate for 2 years but she was losing interest when we came upon a groupon for McHenry's so we decided to give them a try. So glad we did. That was 6 months ago. This is a family owned place. Mr and Mrs McHenry are awesome with the kids. What I appreciate the most as a parent is that they treat the kids as their own. They do not just teach martial arts but discipline them as well. Then there's the self defense part of the class. We feel so much better knowing that our child is learning to defend herself and can apply it if necessary. I won't deny that I too am learning a lot just by watching. I can honestly say taking our child to McHenry's is one of the best decisions we have ever made. Oh, and they give military discount too, which is highly appreciated.
