  • Hadn't been to Second Cup at all since they overhauled their look. Not really a place I consider when I'm thinking of getting a coffee, but I came down here to visit my friend while she was working. Well, the quality of coffee blew my mind. I'm not really a coffee person, so not into the while bright/acidic thing that's been going on lately. I got just a drip coffee first, tasted it black and was blown away by the perfect balance of strength and flavour. Just enough flavour to be noticeable, but not too much to be overpowering. Really wasn't expecting it to be that good. I ended up staying longer, so decided to get a latte as my second beverage. The foam was some of the creamiest foam I've had in all of Calgary. My friend says this is because of the 'microfoam'. You'd the local hipster coffee places would be serving microfoam, but I don't think I've had such good foam elsewhere. Second Cup is a brand that should apparently get a large more attention. I've always kind of been meh about them, but my latest experience has certainly made me a fan.
