  • Warning: This is a lengthy review, but I feel it is necessary to share our wonderful experience with Family VetCare. Having moved here a year ago from out of state, we hadn't established a vet in our area yet. I felt guilty for not doing so sooner, but our dog is generally healthy with no chronic medical conditions. The only problem we've really ever had is that his breed is susceptible to growths. Well low and behold, this week we happened to notice a rapidly growing cyst on his outer ear. We called around to many other places and no one would give us an estimate over the phone, said that we needed to bring him in first for an exam at a cost of around $50-70. We called Family Vetcare and they told us to bring him in today for a FREE estimate. Wow, OK great! So off we go with his old vet records in hand. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how nice and CLEAN the place is. No odor at all. Three young women working the front desk greeted us immediately with a smile and came around, got down to our dog's level to pet and talk to him while we completed a short form. They took his picture for his "chart" before escorting us to an exam room. Great first impression :) We had to wait about 20 minutes to see Dr. Evans, but when she walked in, was every bit as kind and welcoming as the front office staff. She took her time getting to know our dog, gathered a detailed medical history, identified the problem, and told us our treatment options with costs (which were on par with what we've paid for similar procedures in the past). We were surprised and relieved that the procedure could be done the same day, and so we left our dog in their care. About 2 hours later, they called us to come pick him up. Dr. Evans provided instructions for aftercare, pain meds, and a copy of his medical chart with a discharge summary that could rival some human hospitals (seriously!) We were told to expect a follow-up call to check on him tomorrow and she gave us a number to call for any problems before then. We are thrilled to have found our new vet, and I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know. Thank you Family Vetcare for welcoming us and treating our furbaby like a member of your own family!!
