  • This was a while ago but I wanted to share my experience. My dog was throwing up quite a bit. Usually white/yellow foam. He'll throw up after eating food on some occasion. We notice him eating my roommates' hair on the ground. I didn't realize how much women shed around the apartment. For some reason he'll chew on her hair. Even with aggressive vacuuming, there is always hair. My best guess was that her hair was balling up and irritating his stomach. I scheduled to see East End Vet about it and told them the situation. Explain everything above. They said it was mostlikely gastric reflux and they aren't really worried that it was hair. They prescribe me Pepcid capsules and sent me on my way. I waited 30 minutes and exam was done in 5 minutes. The Pepcid didn't help any and I wasn't too impressed with my visit to followup. I decided to move out on my own. No more roommate's hair to worry about. After we moved, my dog threw up a huge hairball. It was the first time I saw the hairball and I knew I was right. After throwing up the hairball, he no longer vomits and gained healthy weight again. It annoys me that I pay quite a bit money for a doc visit only to have it done in 5 minutes. Then I'd have to follow up again and again, spend more money on visits until they finally "guess" the right issue. I don't remember which vet (female) I went to. There are multiple vets. I won't brush the entire place off yet. I just won't go back to that one that ignored what I had to say.
