| - I had zero desire to try an escape room. I didn't really know what it was and it honestly just gave me anxiety. My husband planned to bring our 16yo and his friend visiting from out of town and they begged me to come, and I am SO glad they did. I had the BEST time I've had in a long time and cannot WAIT to go back. I was so impressed with the quality of this activity. The room, the puzzles, the story, the host/master, the waiting room decor, everything was carefully thought out and well executed. The employees were all friendly and with a great sense of humor.
Our son chose the Shanghaied game, which was the most difficult game available that day (9.1, I believe) and it was tough. We got out in 52 minutes but we definitely needed a few hints. I'd love to go back and do a lower rated one and try to not get any hints.
I definitely recommend Escapology whether you're looking for a group activity for adults, with your kids, or even for date night. It is so much fun to get away from your normal routine and away from your smartphones and tv to play a challenging game where you're required to work together. If you take your younger kids or if it's your first time - no matter how smart you are - consider going for a less difficult game, you'll have more fun and then you can work up to the more difficult games.
