  • I was torn between what hotel to choose for my latest trip to Vegas and it had to be appropriate for my newly retried mother. This was my mom's first trip to Vegas and I wanted it to be memorable. I went back and forth about upgrading to the newer suites when I realized our room was on the "older and outdated" side. However, when my mom opened the door and was pleased with our room even the "ugly" parking lot view I sighed a huge sigh of relief. Now don't get me wrong, the room was old skool and outdated. Thankfully, it didn't smell old and stale. However, it was clean, spacious and had all of the basic necessities. We didn't see any stains or crazy things to request a room change. If you're looking for modern style, this room wasn't for you, lol. The staff in Ballys were very cool. The hotel/casino is huge and attached to the Paris hotel/casino which was gorgeous. I hit the jackpot for $70 on one of the 5 cent machines and stopped playing. My mom won and loss throughout our stay but she had a great time. I was happy that she felt safe and comfortable to go and come from our room to the casinos on her own, especially at night. They have several restaurants to choose from, high end to fast food. They had a show that you could see but we already had tickets to another show. I chose Ballys because of the location which was right in the middle of the strip. I didn't want my mom to have to walk too far back to our hotel. It didn't matter because she still said I walked her too much and she just wanted to gamble. Overall unless you're on your honeymoon or just plan on spending more time in the room, I would pay extra for the upgrade. If you're just looking for a nice, clean and convenient place to sleep you can't go wrong with Ballys.
