| - I love this place! Love love love this place. This is my go-to place. I hope it never leaves.
This place is like a dying breed. they have stuff! lots of stuff!! stuff everywhere!!
A giant large selection of stuff!! :) I'll get more in depth later....
I have 2 go to places to make my costumes/cosplay; this is one of them.
This is my, "I'm making a costume and need a _______ to add to it" place to go.
Showgirl headdress? They have it. Heck, they probably made it in store!
They have a lot of pieces in the store that are for sale that they hand made right in the store.
From elaborate headpieces to jeweled shoes- they're one of a kind, handmade, items that are pretty amazing.
They have more rental costumes than costumes to purchase, but they do have SOME to buy.
BUT, if you need some interesting hard to find materials, adornments, jewelry, gems, appliques, little shiny things, feathers of different colors, embellishments, etc- GO HERE with a few hours of time to browse. There's a lot to see and take in. Rolls and rolls of materials of different weights. glass cabinets of different beads, buttons, broaches, etc.
They used to have a lot more as far as make-up selection, latex pieces and appliances go.
But stock on this has lightened up over the years. I'd give them 5 stars if they had more latex appliance pieces, but I understand that a lot of them would get old and turn bad (age and crack) before they would sell them. They do have a good selection of general makeup, liquid latex, glue, etc. Most beginner or Halloween costumer will find what they need here. Just nothing generally over the top 'wow", as far as make up goes. Now I have to plan any latex pieces I am not going to make, a head of time to purchase on line. :(
The staff is helpful. Brutally honest, LOL. If you have a how-to-question; they'll probably know how and know what they're talking about. "How do I put an applique on a stretchy nylon material and get it to stay put?" questions like that...very helpful. Very nice too!! Careful, they'll give back what they're given. For those of you that get pissy when you shop- that was for you. LOL. They're very kind- unless you aren't. :)
I hate those seasonal Halloween costume places and those party places that have costumes too. Usually crap costumes and pieces at those types of places. Here, you'll find the real deal. From antique to 'I've never seen anything like that'- this is a must stop shopping place for me & costumes.
