  • I love Jean Talon and it's one of my favorite things about Montreal. Tons of fresh fruit and veggies, flowers and plants, and a wonderful assortment of food to eat there or take on a picnic. Our favorites are the pork tacos along the central walkway, and the oyster counter (they all taste the same to us, haha, but I'm sure other people have opinions about the different varieties). There are also several bakeries with quiche, French bread and pastries, Turkish/Middle Eastern baked goods, hot dogs, cheese, mustard, fish, pies, soap... impossible to see or taste everything in one visit. Hit up an ATM before you get here, since most places are cash only and there are always long lines for the two ATMs in the market proper.
