  • do I have to give this a star..?? I WILL NEVER Set foot in this so called 'furniture store' in my lifetime ! and if I can stop ANYONE from shopping at this place I will. my experience was horrendous and frankly his (MIKE to be exact...) store has very LOW quality furniture and claims to have the best price in town. NOT! you can have the BEST of the BEST but if your attitude and customer SERVICE is at the bottom of the barrel I'm sorry but sir. let me burst your bubble ...YOU WILL DROWN My experience.... I was reffered to this place by some friends. I was told he had some decent prices and I should have a look. We were shopping for a matress for my 5yr old son. This was our fourth stop down from home and when we got there it we entered into a small showroom. I was with my husband and two kids. When we walked in the 'welcome' We got was "What are you looking for? You know it's only by appointment" I replied "sorry I wasnt' aware". He then answered "ok let me finish here and I'll be with you but you know we dont allow kids in here" (SERIOUSLY? ! it's not a china shop) so I had to send them out to the van and my husband had to stay with them. I waited PATIENTLY for him to finish with his customers and when did finally came over (15 min) to assist me he was very abrubt and wasn't stopping to ask me what I needed. But I did tell him off the bat I wasn't there to spend $1000 for a matress for my 5 year old. He showed me a few matrasses but his attitude was so aragant and 'cocky'. I had to ask HIM all the questions like "what is you warranty" "what is the coil count" at one point after he discovered I only needed the matress and not the boxspring her came back with a different price (lower) but his THICK Trinidadian accent I misunderstood him. He said I can do this for you for $399 but instead I heard $299 and i repeated "299?" he says to me "DON'T PUSH YOUR LUCK!.. I said $399" woah mama.. relax I heard you wrong. I told him "thanks I will consult with my husband and get back to you" and since he had to stay in the car we took turns to come in and out to check that matress out. We decided we would buy it but see if he would bring the price down further or take the taxes off..in the meantime my husband drove off to find an ATM. I came back in and again he was with other customers and i waited patiently for him. when he was done I asked him again what is your final price, he said pay cash and no tax and then dude sat back on his chair and started to eat his peanuts and basically said that's it that's the price. He pointed to a bunch of business cards and claimed that the police were buying 86 matresses and that they were paying more than me... I wasn't sure what he meant.. I wasn't buying 86 matress ..nor do i have the same budget the Police does. I tried one last time to see if he would give us a break on the price but he didn't budge. Sure he didnt' have to nor do I have to settle either, we have a reason to and he may have a reason not to. But that does not mean he can't appreciate us a customer or even win us over. I have worked in the customer service industry for 14 years myself and I have always been told if you are charging a customer the big bucks...instead of making excuses as to why it's so high in price you explain to the customer as of WHY it is priced that way.. quality, warrenty ..you educate the customer, NOT make them feel or treated as a pauper! When my husband arrived with the money I continued to ask more questions... "how much is delivery?" "what is the warrenty" I also asked him re: pocket coil count etc. but he made NO effort to educate me about 'how to shop' for a matress. He was giving me one word answers and was walking by us and not making the SLIGHTEST effort to convince us or assure us re: matress. I was quiet disturbed at this point... I looked at my husband ( MIke wasn't around ) and told him I really dont feel like giving him my hard earned money. My husband felt the same way but hadn't finally decided but my son was being rambunctious so I walked them back to the car to strap them in so just incase we decide ( we have the right to walk away from anything.. it's the customers decision) to still go for it. Mike comes outside and to my HORROR and SHOCK! he says to me " do me a fovour.. NEVer come back here again" ARE YOU 'effing' SERIUOS!?!?!? he did'n just say that to us. I was mortified. There was never any kind of hostility of any sort from our part.. we were being patiant, and polite the entire time...and this was the finishing comment i received from the OWNER of this dump. I left with such horror but I made sure he knew what his customer service level was first. I ended up giving my business elsewhere, paid more money for a better matress to a MUCH better store that had MUCH better customer service, the young boy was a pleasure to deal with and I wanted to make sure he got our sale.
