If you're not crazy when you walk in, you will be by the time you walk out. And you will walk out because Heaven knows they won't offer real help. We have the HPN HMO group plan. Therefore we have to go through Harmony Healthcare. My child is very ill, and I'm sad to report that she is no better, in fact she is worse for the (non)care given at this place. In my previous post I ranted a bit about the Intensive Outpatient program. It was a humiliating experience and it was not workable. So we went to one- on- one therapy. The scheduling is beyond inconvenient; it's a nightmare. We got a therapist she trusted, had to book weeks out for visits that were suppose to happen weekly. Then he left, and she was expected to start over with someone new. But again, the scheduling is impossible. Then my daughter got an opportunity to engage in a long term inpatient program(not offered through HPN nor Harmony). Yay! But here it comes, she doesn't want to go. She says the counselors at Harmony advise that longterm inpatient treatment is useless because you don't learn to cope in the real world. Are you kidding me!?! I am convinced these providers are determined to undermine real treatment and keep their patients sick. They do not offer options that work, but they have no problem taking your money. They even suggested we pay our co pays in advance so the office staff wouldn't have to be bothered to print up a receipt each time we come in. True story!
