rev:text	This place has so many great culinary items that it's hard to walk out without spending money. More than the products, the 5 stars is due to the service I recently received. I have been putting a collection of high end knives, piecing it together of different Japanese brands, expensive, and a cook's prized possessions. I took my new chef knife into the store to be professionally sharpened and it was done on the spot. It whipped through a sheet of paper smooth & clean, razor sharp. However, upon getting home I pulled out the knife and noticed that both sides of my beautiful new knife were scoured, clearly from the sharpening process. I called immediately and was told to return the following day when the store manager Monica would be in. I returned the following day & upon seeing me Monica already knew what I was there for, as did other employees apparently. At first they attempted to buff out the scratches and offered a refund of the sharpening fee. They explained the sharpening heads possibly had debris in them and this wasn't a common issue. Clearly the refund was not going to satisfy the customer as this is a new knife, I take care of them perfectly, and didn't buy it to own a damaged knife. Without having to get upset or press the issue, simply by seeing a disappointed customer and wanting to do the right thing, Monica suggested they replace the knife...even though it is not a brand they carry. I felt that was above and beyond on her part and am very thankful....because damn it I would be sad if I then avoided going in there due to an unfortunate situation. I'd be the one missing out on all the culinary treasures to be had at SLT!
