  • Talk about a blast from the past!!!! I have very fond memories of this place during my childhood...back in the day when Vegas was somewhat kid friendly, we would come here on vacation and I just remember that my dad would give me $20 and I would play ALL the games in the midway and arcade. My sister and I would win stuffed animals and thought it was the best place ever. This was in the mid 1990s...fast forward to now, and boyyyyy Circus Circus is run down. On my last visit to Vegas, too many afternoon drinks and childhood memories with a desire to kill a couple hours influenced our decision to visit! I'm actually surprised that it is still open. There literally is no reason to head out here, it sits by itself on the North End of the Strip and there is nothing surrounding it besides construction and unfinished casinos. The casino itself hasn't aged well, smells of smoke, and also isn't very lively. However, minimums were CHEAP ($5 routlette) and drink service was decent while you played. However, if you want more premium liquor...drinks were really cheap at the bar compared to other casinos. So after blowing some money on roulette and slamming a couple beers. Me and the boys made our way upstairs to the glorious Midway Area. It has definitely gotten a makeover and many of the games were only $1-$3. However, it was absolutely dead. Not many families at all! We went on a Thursday in the early afternoon (2-3pm). I'm sure it gets busier on the weekends, but the excitement is all in coming out on top and winning the derby horse racing game against 12+ players. Well, I'll give 3 stars for nostalgic reasons (and only that). I am not brave enough to imagine what the hotel rooms look like but as far as a place to have some cheap drinks and fun, I think it's worth stopping by. Especially if you have been here as a child! Final Piece of Dirty Donovan Life Advice? If you're gambling and want to avoid a hangover...avoid spirits and stick to ordering beer! hahaha
