  • I've volunteered here a number of times with my school organization. It is a thrift shop where its proceeds go to buying supplies and new clothes for needy children. During Operation School Bell, I help children pick out new clothes, shoes, and books, and also give them a bag full of hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, etc. It's a great feeling to see how happy the kids are trying out their new clothes. A lot of the children I've talked to tell me that the clothes and shoes they are wearing are what they've gotten last year and they're excited to have something new. After shopping, they get to go to another room where they play games, do puzzles, read, color, and eat. It's a great atmosphere to volunteer at and they have a lot of things on sale to help benefit their program.
