Yes! I got my haircut finally at Chura based on the great reviews on yelp. It was a good decision too. Its a two week wait but who cares.
I had hiroki for a 11am appointment, when I arrived there was one gentlemen finishing up his haircut in one out of 3 seats.
Hiroki started right away asked me to sit and lay back for a hair wash. This might have been the only time I've been to a salon getting my hair washed and didn't get water splashed onto my face ruining my makeup, no water in my ears, and thank god no water trickiling down the back of my neck. This hairwash was perfect and he had really firm hands with his scalp massage. It was nice.
I have really long and damaged hair so after the wash my hair was a huge mess in a thousand tangles and knots everywhere. We talked about my recent mishap where a stylist left the bleach blonde strips in my hair to over process leaving my long hair ruined.
He gently took his time taking out every knot. I mustve been sitting there for a good 30 minutes after he was done brushing.
I told him I wanted long flowy layers in the front and some in the back. That's exactly what I got.
I was very very happy with my haircut. And will def pick this little gem over any upscale salon that would burn a hole in my pocket, and make me feel ugly leaving.
The only thing I didn't like was that he blow dryed all of my hair. I hate blow drying. I looked around to see if there was a hair straightener that I could request him to use but unfortunatly didn't see any.
The haircut was 37 including tax. But with tip I paid 45.
