| - It's taken me years to find a salon that can (1) listen to what you ask of them, and (2) provide some helpful feedback on what might actually be a good or bad idea based on the shape of your head, hair type, etc.
I've been going to Salon Sweet William since shortly after they opened, and I haven't gone anywhere else since. In fact, 've referred several friends and they've all become loyal customers, too.
The atmosphere and staff/partners are as trendy as the neighbourhood, and their sense of style really informs their approach to hair styling. They're also very good at making you feel comfortable, at ease, and at home. Whether you're waiting for your turn or in between phases of the cut, you can enjoy a nice coffee, great magazine reading, and trendy tunes.
They're line of Kevin Murphy products are also better than anything else I've tried (KMS, etc.). So as far as trendy but non-pretentious salons go, it doesn't get much better than this.
