  • I think YYZ is well laid out, clean, organized and overall, well decorated. Lines move quickly and efficiently and all the staff I've dealt with in customs and ticketing lines have been very pleasant. I've only been in and out twice, and this review is based on my last trip, on an Air Canada regional jet. The AC regional jet departures gates look like how I would envision Baghdad after a bombing. Walking to them there are big windows to the outside which show such filth and garbage on the ground beyond, that I was shocked. Not just the blown trash from a large international airport tarmac, which will happen, but it looked like dumpsters full of garbage had been getting dumped there for a long time. Then the gates. There were 5 - 6 gate doors, each with 2 - 3 outgoing flights. I saw 4 workers. The boards announcing the flights were archaic, there was nothing besides the flight number and the time (the scheduled time - not the delayed times. If you wanted to find out about a delay, you had to find someone who could tell you). They only list a flight 15 mins before departure so you had better be listening when they pick up the mic to announce boarding (my flight was never actually put on a board, just announced via crackly microphone). There is one row of chairs and no place for handicapped people, so they just get parked in the middle of the chaos of a couple hundred people. Oh, and did I mention the air conditioning? That's because there's nothing to mention, as it's non-existent. It does get hot in Canada, folks, and humid too. Two hundred people - no seats, no air, 95 degrees, no clue when your flight is going or if it's been called. It's a disaster. It's claustrophobic, smelly, anxiety-inducing, disorganized, a miserable experience all the way around. There's also no water anywhere. I will never fly Air Canada. I will pay 10 times the amount to take any other flight. Never, ever again.
