| - My appointment was at one, it was my first time coming to Aveda and I was travelling by TTC. I ended up 20 minutes late because I got a little lost, needless to say they took me in anyway. I booked my appointment with a beginner student for full highlights and I was nervous, Mel was my hair dresser and I have to say she seemed just as nervous as I was which made me even more nervous she was super friendly though, she escorted me to her station, we discussed what I wanted done and then she offered me tea, water or coffee and handed me a magazine. I asked for water which she brought to me in a cup from the sink. I prefer a water bottle personally but that's not a big deal. Mel's educator came over and we discussed what I wanted done, she made a few suggestions and the highlighting process began. Mel was really slow but did a good job there were a couple times she got stuck and wasn't sure how to continue but whenever she was unsure about something rather than guess she'd politely excuse herself and ask for help. I really appreciated that. It was a long process, at one point I had both Mel and her educator working on my hair at the same time. When the foiling process was done I was offered a hand massage, not the greatest it was a whole 5 seconds per hand, looking around I saw other clients getting their hand massaged for several minutes all the way up the arm but again not a big deal, once the colour was finished I got my hair washed, I really wish she had done a better job massaging my scalp rather than just lathering the shampoo. Mel then offered to style my hair for an extra ten dollars or just a regular dry. I chose the regular dry. The whole process was a very long three hours but the end result was amazing, it was well worth the wait and the pice;$90 I will definitely be back I got exactly what I asked for and even though I purchased a shampoo from them I was never pressured into it which I can appreciate.
