  • I am a huge advocate of biological dentistry and I was looking for someone local after moving. I decided to make an appointment with Dr Meyer to help diagnose and hopefully treat some ongoing dental issues. I called to make a new patient appointment and scheduled. When I arrived, we went into a small conference room to talk. I told him I was looking forward to his professional opinion based on an exam and testing, to which he nodded. He asked me to go through my (complicated) history, and I was very eager to get his professional opinion. Imagine my shock when he announced we were at the end of our appointment and that was it. There was no exam, he did not even look in my mouth once. I gave him my history, he told me what could be happening, and said if I wanted to know I would have to come back for a separate (additionally billed) exam. What kind of dentist/doctor does a new patient appointment without an exam?! And charges the patient $250 for said appointment without prior explanation that there would be no exam. I left with no further information than when I had arrived. He also had called me a name (!!!) and insulted me, which I told him was horribly inappropriate and unprofessional. He did apologize but at that point I was decidedly turned off by him. Fast forward a couple weeks and I need to undergo a medical procedure and have been recommended to have my teeth cleaned first to reduce the chance of infection spreading. I decided to call Dr Meyer's office and schedule a cleaning, figuring I would give them another shot. This is where it gets pretty unbelievable. They told me I would have to schedule a new patient exam before they could clean my teeth, because they need to determine "what kind" of cleaning I need! I explained that I had already been for a new patient appointment, but they refused to schedule me for a cleaning without coming for a separately charged exam, which should have been included in my initial appointment and hefty fee. I really detest "bottom feeders" who prey on people with health issues and are concerned more with money than their patients' health and wellbeing. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend anyone go here, and I guess I'll consider this is a blessing in disguise after reading the other negative review! Beware.
