The artarium is beautiful!
We had our wedding reception here a week ago. In the planning stage we had a different coordinator every couple weeks, either quit, fired, or whatever the reason. That was the first red flag.
We were only allowed to get our cake from their outsourced bakery, flur de lise. Second red flag. As the baker was nice and seemed competent, the only thing she got right was the color. I don't believe the cake could have been any more plain or basic if we had just gotten it from safeway. It was messy. Fingerprints and marks all over the cake. We had asked for calligraphy on the sides of the cake. They just put a ribbon around it and a half-ass bead border. Had I known the lack of attention to their clients desires I would have make our cake myself (I am a pastry chef and have made several wedding cakes), but that wasn't an option because embassy suites required us to get our cake through their 3rd party.
The reception is starting and hors d'oeuvres are being passed but they ran out because they hadn't closed off our party to the rest of the hotel and random hotel guests were being treated to our hors d'oeuvres and drinks.
My bride and myself arrive to our reception to see the name plate near the door announcing our function. Her name was correct on the sign. Mine however, was not just a misspelling or a type-o but an entirely different name! "Who is this person?" I asked. Just mumbles of confusion as it was time for our gran enterance. Nothing was done about the sign. There was a different name next to my wife's all night.
Our cake cutter was "misplaced" so I had to use a knife from the kitchen. Luckily it was found the next morning and we finally got it.
Our guest book wasn't set up or even opened, so we have 0 of the 100+ guests signatures recorded.
I would have expected more from a Hilton hotel group. I wouldn't recommend anyone to have their reception at this place.
