  • First of all: I have a very serious fear of heights. Despite this, I really wanted to try this attraction, as I'd heard so many good things. Plus, I was promised that it's not really like a big ferris wheel, it's more like looking out the window of an airplane (which, oddly, I have no problems with). So, with more than a little trepidation and a very good friend (literally) holding my hand, we began our ascent in the dark of night. I knew better than to try to look anywhere other than straight out the sides during the first part of the ride; this affords a great view of the Vegas skyline and surrounding areas. While I was never able to muster enough courage to look out the front or back (which affords a view of the wheel and other cars), I did cast a glance downward a few times, and managed to keep my wits about me. The cars themselves are nice on the inside, and there's really very little feeling of motion. The ride takes 28 minutes to do a full revolution and is constantly in motion, so there's no start/stop. As has been mentioned by others, there are drinks on board, but seriously, take stock of what you think you can drink in 28 minutes before you go for the "AYCD" package. Bottom line, if you want to get a spectacular view of Vegas, definitely check out the High Roller. Look for discounts, they're readily available, although some may come with time of day restrictions or the like.
