  • I work essentially on the border between Uptown and South End, so I am always looking for a new delicious place to grab lunch. As many others have referenced, there's been a lack of a quality sandwich shop in South End since The Common Market was kicked out. Lincoln's Haberdashery is poised to fill that void. There's not private lot for Lincoln's, so if you're going at a peak time that could pose a problem. Luckily I was able to get front and center when I went yesterday. I was surprised with the range of options on their sandwich menu - roasted pork tenderloin, yellowfin tuna, breaded pork cutlet, poached chicken salad - and their breakfast menu looked equally as good. I ordered the El Wapo Gallo Blanco - poached chicken salad, sriracha, pickled jalapeños, bacon, cucumber, and cilantro. I wasn't expecting as large as a sandwich as I got! It was huge (YOOJ)! My only complaint was the bread. I do not specifically remember what type of bread it came on, but it was very tough and rough and I kind of had to tear at it like a piece of beef jerky (not YOOJ). There was also a limited selection of what I would call "normal" drinks. They had a few coolers with kombucha, organic energy drinks, beer, wine, etc. but not a whole lot of tea or sodas, and no soda fountain. Of course they do have their coffee bar, which I am looking forward to trying soon. I did not take a lot of time to browse the rest of the shop, but they seemed to have some entertaining gag-gift type stuff. Seating availability is "meh", free Wifi (password: honestabe), and a friendly staff that will walk you through the menu. Glad to have some clutch sammies back in South End!
