| - I grew up in SoCal where visiting swap meets were a weekly thing. I knew what to expect and got a lot more than I bargained for. Solid 3.5 stars for me, but not quite 4.
Pros:
1. Free parking and cheap admission fee. (See pic of current pricing)
2. Lots of vendors selling everything; from kitchen goods, to clothing, to blankets, to toy. You get the picture, and all at affordable prices. And if you're good at bargaining, you can even talk the price down even more.
3. So many choices of food!! Micheladas, tacos, fries, agua frescas, dessert and so much more. We only spent $40 on a michelada, 2 large beers, a torta, carne asada fries and 3 bags of roasted peanuts.
4. Live entertainment and dancing if that's your thing.
5. Rides for the kids, but I must say they look pretty sketchy and I would never let my son ride them.
6. I like people watching, and believe me, there were some interesting characters to see.
Cons:
1. It's not in the best part of town.
2. Parking can be a pain if you arrive later on in the evening.
3. It gets pretty crowded, so if you're enochlophobic, probably not a good idea.
4. Since it's outdoors, I suggest not wearing sandals. Our feet got pretty gross after walking around.
5. I saw animals being sold. Not a fan of that.
6. I imagine during the peak summer months it can get super hot, even in the evening. (Which is why they are open at night.)
I wouldn't make this a weekly trip, but I'd visit again if I was looking for a specific something or if we wanted to get some cheap eats with friends.
