I travel throughout the country and for the most part have always been pleased with my stays @La Quintas but a recent visit to this hotel fell short of my expectation.
After a long day of driving I arrived and my room was prepared as usual. (This hotel is undergoing renovations so things were slightly disorganized but I accept that as renovations are never easy.)
My issue is at 5 AM I was awoken to the 'drip, drip, drip' of water coming from the ceiling in the bathroom.
I suspect someone above us had left a faucet
running. I walked to the main desk, explained the problem and was handed a set of new towels. I was told that Maintenance would be there to help. They never did show up. I went back to my room, used the new towels to try to mop up as best I could, emptied the trash cans I had placed to collect water, and waited.
After about 15 minutes the leaking stopped.
Although I really had plans of
leaving later in the day but since by now I was rather 'awake' I packed up and returned to the front desk to check out. I told the clerk of my morning's events and felt that my room should have been comped. There was no offer made to compensate my inconvenience. Finally ( after voicing my frustration, she discounted my charge $30. This was a somewhat pricey La Quinta and considering the room was over $100, the
offer of $30 seemed rather paltry. I have elite status and was a bit disappointed.
I seriously doubt I will switch to another hotel chain, because LaQuinta has generally been a better experience, but the particular location will not be seeing me again!
La Quinta has fallen short on this visit for certain.
Even my complementary bottled water and cookie could not compensate for a ruined morning!
