  • I stumbled upon Appliance Canada through a recommendation through a contractor, in search of a new refrigerator. I had a fire happen at my home, my insurance policy provided me with a budget that was $40k below my content valuation. So, the challenge was to find the best prices and very specific appliances with sizes that could fit in my condo. Unfortunately, there is only one fridge model that could fit in my custom cabinet and Appliance Canada advertised this on their site. Appliance Canada prides itself in 3 pillars of 1) outstanding service, 2) premium brands, 3) leading prices. My experience with each: 1) Outstanding service: This fridge took three deliveries to arrive un-dented, undamaged. Over 3 months. After each delivery, I made it very clear the fridge needed to be inspected before delivered to my place and it never was. I asked several times for a discount/refund but they had just avoided the question so many times, even after escalating to much more senior levels. 2) Premium brands: my fridge was manufactured by Blomberg. My first damaged order, and the ones that followed, had to be ordered one by one each time and took 3 weeks each order. So yes, they have premium brands. Just not necessarily on hand. Not to mention, premium might be an overstatement as their delivery staff told me I should expect my fridge to stop working in two years. 3) Leading Prices: Granted, it was cheaper by about 50 bucks compared to another retailer. The amount of food I had to purchase while waiting for my replacement without having a full fridge on hand (I had a mini-fridge) probably raked up to price of the fridge itself. If you are looking for a delivery service, you can definitely count on Appliance Canada. They will not even touch your item until you take the day off work, book the elevator, and enter your home only to check what the product looks like. As a home owner, if you are looking to purchase an appliance, please don't be fooled - have your contractor handle the purchases or go straight to a more reputable retailer. Don't waste your time in hopes of saving a few bucks. You'll end up disappointed.
